Get Some Bike Lovin' ;)

Okay so what a perfect day to celebrate my new bike:)
It's a bit stiff and struggles uphill cause the gears aren't great but that only makes me love it more.
I'm naming it Cindy 2.
Second loved possession after the Cindy doll in my room. Hopefully she doesn't get jealous.

And in dedication to pink things, childhood (which seems to have become a recurring theme) and lazing around in the sun, me and Kevin were introduced to this a-ma-zing Green Tea stuff today.
It tastes like pomegranate and corn syrup. TRY it!
I also rediscovered my love for David Boring. A Freudian narrative which may give you nightmares...
or good dreams, come to think of it.
This post has been really sporadic, I guess I just want to say... IT'LL BE SUMMER SOON. And we can all watch moths bump the light fitting until dawn occurs.

Happy Birthday Dear Daphen, Happy Birthday To Yoooou.

Sorry it's bit late Daph,
but I made a sign. And felt like a kid again with the acrylics and the sunshine and The Lion King mug we use to rinse the big paintbrush in.
So, yeah, Happy Birthday!
To the girl who inspired nightmares by introducing me to House of Leaves,
taught me how to dance,
and is really, really, cool.
No kidding.
She deserves a stage. A big stage. Which is why I put a picture of a stage.

For Ola.

<< Aha that's me being fake moody. I'm kidding, HI.
My lovely friend Ola who I sit next to sometimes in English and who starred in my GCSE drama piece would like to have a taste of the 60s. Well here you go my dear, I slipped in one of me just for good measure:)

There's a wee appetizer. I hope it was sweet.

Couldn't go without a mention. Okay.

Polish Juice and Rough Trade Records.

This crazy juice, for all those who don't know, is amazing. I definitely recommend. Wouldn't be surprised if it turned your pee fuschia though...
Bought in Costcutter. Packed full with e-numbers. The good stuff. I thought I'd photograph it next to my favourite ceramic parrot who usually resides on top of a book cabinet in my living room. He was very appreciative.

I feel sorry for those who work in Rough Trade and see people walk in, use the photo booth and leave. I always attempt to walk around for at least 15 minutes first, and hell, I'VE HAD COFFEE THERE TOO. But sometimes... well the other customers there just seem so wanky?! And I always feel really intimidated like, IKnowNothingAboutMusicIfIPickUpThisJoyDivisionRecordWillILookTooMainstream/Beggy...
Well me and Eleanor were around yesterday having a catch up, she's going to France next week for a day and I taught her how to say some lovely vulgar phrases to offend all the natives:D
ENJOY ELEANOR.

oh yes, p.s. the last picture on that strip looks so silly because I stood up too early like a fool.

Submarine.

I saw Submarine yesterday in the basement of Greenwich's Picturehouse (an absolutely darling venue I must say) and it got me thinking of favourite things as Salinger's Catcher in The Rye and the recent Perks Of Being A Wallflower. It will be an interesting observation to see how the latter compares to Ayoade's perfect timing and pregnant pauses when it's transferred to film.
Much has to be said for the honesty many British Indie films seem to possess, which may be lost through Wallflower's American setting.
What can I say, though, I'm an incredibly impressionable young lady. Give me a pale outcast in a duffel coat, a defiant female, an empty bathtub next to a railway line and a shitload of fireworks and I'm smitten.
It also got me thinking about the counterculture "coming of age" films which boast female characters as opposed to Holden Caulfields or Oliver Tates. My mum suggested Juno, but i felt that it was bigger than  merely "coming of age", the whole pregnancy aspect put a different turn on the lonely girl theme. Again, I'm going to use this as an opportunity to bang on about my favourite film/book (I won't call it a graphic novel!) Ghost World. Never has a female character been so well written by a male, Enid's journey through the narrative is both amusingly mundane and incredibly moving.
I see it as a life goal to maybe one day create a female Coming Of Age Piece which is just as evocative.

The Sky Tonight.

"You protected yourself and loved small. Picked the tiniest stars out of the sky to own... grass blades, salamanders, spiders, woodpeckers, beetles, a kingdom of ants. Anything bigger wouldn't do. A woman, a child, a brother - big love like that would split you wide open."
A quote from Beloved, quite frankly, a stunning piece of literature. I definitely recommend reading. Once you get past the first hurdle of the po-mo style it's ensured to stay in your mind for a long long time.
Here's just a few pictures of the sky I took the other night. I literally couldn't believe how amazing it looked! I had to run outside and crane my neck like a child. Oh, and a list of words it made me think of;
1. Blood Oranges
2. Rust
3. Copper
4. Tulips
5. Coral
...and red red things:)
